By Executive Order 202.72 issued November 3, 2020, New
York's remote notarization and document execution procedures
are extended through December 3, 2020.
As has been done in previous months during the pandemic,
Executive Order 202.72 was issued on the date the previous
Executive Order (EO 202.67) was set to expire. This extension,
while anticipated, is still welcome news for New Yorkers who
continue to deal with the practical effects of the public health
emergency. Governor Cuomo's initial Executive Orders 202.7
(audio-video notarization) and 202.14 (audio-video witnessing of
estate planning documents) have now been extended monthly since the
beginning of the pandemic, and are likely to be extended beyond
December 3, 2020.
