Arnold & Porter Webinar

Personal jurisdiction law has undergone a sea change in recent years, with a trio of Supreme Court decisions—Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations, S.A. v. Brown, Daimler AG v. Bauman, and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. v. Superior Court—serving as a clear statement in mass torts in particular that the days of blatant, unchecked plaintiff forum shopping in search of jurisdictions promising enormous verdicts are at an end. But those cases haven't kept plaintiffs' lawyers from continuing to test the bounds of personal jurisdiction jurisprudence and from seeking loopholes in the law.

This webinar will provide an overview of the latest developments in the law on both general and specific jurisdiction, including how each is currently being applied in the class action and mass tort context. Additionally, it will offer practical pointers on the timing and vehicles for raising personal jurisdiction defenses.
