The Daily Journal named San Francisco litigation partner Alexis Amezcua to its list of 2019 Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers.

A rising star in the California class actions and complex commercial litigation market, Alexis has substantive trial experience in both state and federal court, for both class action and individual matters. Alexis has counseled and defended major Silicon Valley companies in high-profile litigation, which has resulted in complete walk-aways, denial of class certification, and trial victories.  She recently led a team that secured a favorable settlement of a long-standing legal dispute alleging breach of contract and more than $750 million in costs and lost profits. She was additionally a member of the team that won a defense verdict in a $110 million claim against VMware on allegations of copyright infringement and breach of a software license agreement.

Alexis is also active in the Morrison & Foerster’s pro bono efforts, including recently representing two Rohnert Park residents who claimed their right to privacy was violated by an unreasonable police search of their home. Additionally, she was on the ground in Texas and New Mexico as a part of the immediate response to the recent migrant family crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. As the Hiring Partner for the firm’s San Francisco Litigation department, Alexis is particularly invested in ensuring that the firm’s incoming lawyers are diverse, that they are mentored and promoted when they join the firm, and that the pipeline for incoming diverse lawyers improves.
