The National Tax and Customs Office (DIAN) gained access to the Interface Public Members (IPM) platform on February 1, 2017. This platform helps verify the authenticity of products and trademarks used in international trade in real time.

The IPM platform can help improve and complement customs operations by combating the international trade of illegitimate products and trademarks. Colombia joins 95 countries that currently use this tool to reduce counterfeiting.

Trademarks registered in DIAN's databases will benefit from these new tools. If you have not registered your trademarks, Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas can help you do so and protect your trademark portfolio in other ways.
