On April 11 and April 27, 2016, the Senate and House,
respectively, passed the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (DTSA). The
DTSA, for the first time, provides a federal cause of action for
the misappropriation of trade secrets. This significant development
has large implications for companies and employers nationwide. As
