The Supreme Court hears a case this week that could affect how
people communicate on Facebook. The First Amendment lawsuit being
considered involves a man in Pennsylvania who posted the lyrics of
a graphic rap song and directed them at his estranged wife on
Facebook. The question: Is this a threat? Or is it free speech?
According to Charles Hosch, what counts is that the recipient felt
threatened, not that the poster intended it as humor.
