The commercial real estate industry has recognized that
promoting ESG through impact investing is not only a laudable goal
in itself, but also one that can enhance the bottom line.
In this chapter of our 18th Annual Corporate Governance
& Executive Compensation Survey, we discuss how, while
impact investing is commendable and bodes well for the future, the
ultimate goal is, in effect, to eliminate the need for impact
investing, to create a market place where positive community impact
and climate change and other environmental concerns are no longer
on a separate checklist, but rather ingrained in investment
culture.
