The Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) petition process wherein manufacturers, importers, and other interested parties were able to seek a three-year reduction or suspension of import duties on non-U.S. origin products through the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) closed on December 10, 2019. Over 4,000 petitions relating to various types of products (e.g., apparel, electronics, machinery and parts thereof, chemicals, and more) were filed.
As of January 10, 2020, and through February 24, 2020, individuals, companies, and other entities with an interest may comment on these petitions. Comments may be in the form of objecting to a petition, supporting a petition, or taking no position at all.
