A joint final rule from the SEC and CFTC to reduce margin
requirements for security futures was published in the Federal Register. The rule
amendments - which go into effect on December 24, 2020 - harmonize
the requirements regardless of whether such products are held in a
futures account or in a securities portfolio margin account.
