OFAC issued two new FAQs clarifying authorized activities under Syria-related sanctions.

In FAQ 884, OFAC stated that non-U.S. persons do not risk exposure to secondary sanctions for activities authorized for U.S. persons under a Syria Sanctions Regulations general license.

In FAQ 885, OFAC stated that the provision of certain humanitarian assistance to Syria, including U.S.-origin food and most medicines, is permitted for both U.S. and non-U.S. persons without an OFAC or Bureau of Industry and Security (or "BIS") license. OFAC reiterated its commitment to ensuring that humanitarian assistance can reach the people of Syria.
