As part of our Black History Month celebrations, Buchanan's CDIO Lloyd Freeman hosted a courageous conversation with Professor D. Wendy Greene to examine the law and effects of racial discrimination against African descendants' natural hair in the workplace. The two discussed the “invisible harms” and other negative impacts caused by race-based natural hair discrimination. As one of the world's leading experts on “grooming codes discrimination,” Professor Greene explored landmark legal reforms on this topic, which her scholarly advocacy has shaped and are aimed at creating truly inclusive workplaces that celebrate Black hairstyles and diversity.

Buchanan partnered with Drexel University's Black Law Students Association to co-host this event.
