The rise in copyright infringement lawsuits is an alarming trend, according to James Sammataro, Co-Head of the firm's Media + Entertainment Practice. And it seems that these suits are here to stay, whether they have merit or not.

Speaking with Digital Music News in a recent podcast, Sammataro discusses the blurred lines between inspiration and infringement, and cautions artists and songwriters to ever list their music influencers, as it could be setting them up for potential litigation down the road.  

"There's been a confluence of events that have really fostered a pro-copyright infringement environment in terms of filing lawsuits....Certainly, we’re in the age of copyright trolling.”
