During a call on March 21, 2017, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that certain electronic devices may no longer be carried onto certain airline flights – they will have to be checked in.
What is not allowed?
- Any item larger than a cellphone, including laptops, tablets, e-readers, portable DVD players, gaming devices larger than a smartphone and travel-size printers and scanners.

Nonstop flights to US originating from or connecting through the following airports and countries:
- Queen Alia International Airport / Amman, Jordan
- Cairo International Airport / Cairo, Egypt
- Ataturk International Airport / Istanbul, Turkey
- King Abdulaziz International Airport / Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
- King Khalid International Airport / Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- Kuwait International Airport / Kuwait City, Kuwait
- Mohammed V Airport / Casablanca, Morocco
- Hamad International Airport / Doha, Qatar
- Dubai International Airport / Dubai, UAE
- Abu Dhabi International Airport / Abu Dhabi, UAE
