The Federal Trade Commission announced that it will be hosting another edition of its long-running workshop, "Green Lights & Red Flags:  FTC Rules of the Road for Business," on October 29, 2020.  The FTC is hosting the workshop with regional partners in Ohio.  

The workshop will cover topics such as protecting small businesses from fraud, truth-in-advertising law, consumer promotion issues (including social media marketing, consumer reviews, children's online privacy, and e-mail marketing), and data security. 

Speakers will include Andrew Smith, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, Ohio Senior Assistant Attorney General for Consumer Protection Rebecca Schlag, Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs Director Sheryl Harris, and Sue McConnell, President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau Serving Greater Cleveland.

In announcing the event, the FTC said that the workshop will, "bring together Ohio business owners and marketing executives with national and state legal experts to provide practical insights to business and legal professionals about how established consumer protection principles apply in today's fast-paced marketplace."
