The requirements relating to the holding of AGMs differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Therefore, as with other COVID-19 responsive measures, new arrangements have been implemented on a country-by-country basis, which has led to a variety of different approaches.

This is a summary of the measures introduced to mitigate the effect of COVID-19 on the holding of AGMs. This has posed a particular challenge in current circumstances given the ban on large gatherings and travel restrictions. This summary considers the position of a range of jurisdictions including the UK, Germany, France, Belgium, Delaware, Brazil, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai. It is not designed as a detailed review of the underlying legislation and specific advice should be sought on a country-by-country basis.
