The National Audit Office ('NAO') has become the latest organisation to launch an inquiry following the closure of Kids Company. The NAO's inquiry follows the Charity Commission's decision to open a statutory inquiry and the Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee's recent decision to announce an inquiry into the collapse of Kids Company.

The NAO investigation will focus on the level of Government funding that was received by Kids Company, and examine the Government's grounds for providing funding and how it monitored the grants.

It is expected that a report on the NAO's investigation will be published before December 2015. Depending on the outcome of the report, the Public Accounts Committee might then decide to hold a hearing into the matter.
