It is reported that due to the introduction of the new services for accelerated searches, it will be possible to reduce the period for forwarding the first examination results to the applicant and to reduce the period for taking a decision on granting the patents or trademark certificates up to 2 months.
For accelerated registration of trademarks in Russia, the applicant has to apply to the Patent Office for conduction of the accelerated search using the automated system "Trademarks of the Russian Federation", which will include the search for registered and filed for registration identities and similarity trademarks with the applicant's trademark. The duration of such search varies from 5 working days to 1 month depending on the requirements of the applicant.
For accelerated registration of patents for inventions and utility models in Russia, the applicant also has to apply to the Patent Office for conduction of the subject-matter patent search using foreign commercial databases of patent information (Questel Platinum; Derwent Innovation - Clarivate Analytics; LexisNexis Patent Strategies). The duration of such search varies from 10 working days to 1 month depending on the requirements of the applicant.
