The launch of Andersen Tax in Nigeria (Andersen Tax LP) in July 2017 marked the re-entry of the Andersen brand into Africa. Andersen Global, an international association of member and collaborating firms, expanded into the Nigerian market with a clear vision of becoming a leading tax and legal organization in the continent, distinguished by our ability to provide best-in-class, seamless and independent services within the continent and beyond.
Through its Member and Collaborating firms, Andersen Global now has a presence in more than 65 locations in 45 countries in Africa, from South Africa to Senegal and Morocco to Mauritius. Andersen's presence in Africa has since expanded to include more than 1,000 tax and legal professionals, and nearly 200 partners today.
Since inception just three years ago, Andersen Tax in Nigeria has made a huge impact within the business environment through our involvement in many landmark transactions that have achieved significant tax benefits for our clients.
In 2019, Andersen Global signed a Collaboration Agreement with TNP, the new age leading Nigerian Law Firm with a niche in Fintech and Corporate Finance services. TNP has also become a force to reckon with in tax dispute adjudication within a very short time. This is just one of many legal practices in Africa that has joined the global organization, supporting our objective of providing integrated tax and legal services.
Andersen Tax continues to seek avenues for expansion geared towards meeting the needs of our clients. This has led to the expansion of our service offerings from tax and regulatory services to include various business advisory and private wealth management services. As such, the name "Andersen Tax" no longer represents the full suite of services being provided.
Following its rapid expansion on the continent, Andersen Global is now unifying its African member firms under the brand "Andersen."
Operating under a common global brand demonstrates the region's ability to provide seamless service globally along with the other member firms of Andersen Global. In order to align the firm's identity with the new direction and expanded service offerings, in Nigeria, Andersen Tax is now branded simply as Andersen.
Expanded Service Offerings
In order to continue to meet our clients' needs and provide services that are relevant, Andersen in Nigeria has expanded beyond tax and regulatory services into providing business advisory services. There is however no plan to go into audit practice. This expansion has brought about the introduction of the Business Advisory Practice and a renewed focus on the Private Clients and Family Wealth (PCFW) Practice.
The Business Advisory Practice is the newest addition to the Andersen in Nigeria service lines and is comprised of professionals with many years of experience and expertise in providing accounting services, risk advisory services, technology advisory services and financial advisory services.
With this new service line, Andersen in Nigeria aims to provide customized business solutions that deliver lasting value to our client's businesses and a one-stop shop providing a suite of complementary professional services without being constrained by any conflict of interest issues that audit firms face. This is a major source of differentiation for us in the market, which enables us to be strong advocates for our clients.
