Mayer Brown Cybersecurity & Data Privacy partner Dominique Shelton Leipzig received the 2024 "Privacy Vanguard Award" from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The award is one of the most prestigious in the privacy field.

The IAPP describes the award as follows: "Only a select few reach the pinnacle of their profession. The IAPP Privacy Vanguard Awards recognize one IAPP member from five geographical regions—Asia, EMEA, Latin America (including Mexico), North America (US and Canada) and Oceania—who have achieved greatness in leadership, knowledge and creativity in the field of privacy and data protection."

Dominique also received the organization's "Diversity in Privacy Award" for her "leadership in the promotion of equity and inclusion in the privacy field."

One of the country's top privacy, artificial intelligence (AI) and data lawyers, Dominique leads Mayer Brown's Ad Tech Privacy & Data Management team and serves as the leader of the Global Data Innovation team, where she helps clients navigate evolving legal compliance issues related to privacy, AI and data security for their digital data initiatives.

Dominique is a member of the IAPP's AI Governance Center Advisory Board. She also founded the Digital Trust Summit, a daylong conference for CEOs and board members concerning generative AI and other emerging topics. Dominique's Forbes book, Trust is dedicated to data leadership concerning AI, privacy and cyber.

Dominique is also a diversity, equity, and inclusion champion. She uses her platform to further diversity initiatives across the privacy sector. At Mayer Brown, she mentors a dozen diverse associates to help them advance in their careers and advocate for themselves as people of color navigating Big Law.
