Canada recently passed legislation that requires mid-sized and large businesses to report on the steps they have taken to prevent the use of forced labour and child labour in their supply chains. The Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act creates a new annual filing and reporting obligation for many businesses, and amendments to the Customs Tariff will broaden the range of situations in which imported goods may be detained by the Canada Border Services Agency.
