We are pleased to welcome Keita Szemok-Uto and Dorothy Zhou to Watson Goepel LLP as our 2023-2024 Articling Students.

Keita Szemok-Uto

Before joining Watson Goepel LLP, Keita was an intern with the International Humanitarian Law team at the Canadian Red Cross, where he helped develop legal research memos.

Keita volunteered in the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic during law school, providing legal information and assistance to members of the Nova Scotia community, primarily in Residential Tenancy and family law. He also participated in pro-bono initiatives involving civil litigation and wills and estates. At the Teryl Scott Legal Prison Clinic, he drafted legal forms for self-represented litigants taking civil action against Correctional Services Canada. At the Dalhousie Wills Project, he drafted formal wills for low-income seniors living in Halifax.

Dorothy Zhou

Before joining Watson Goepel LLP, Dorothy summer-interned at a prestigious law firm in Beijing, spent two years with a renowned private investment banking company working with their in-house counsel, and an additional five years contributing at another distinguished financial services company.

Dorothy is confident that her previous experience in Hong Kong and China has given her a solid grounding in solicitor skills.
