On September 12, New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas
filed a complaint in the District of New Mexico against technology
companies and application developers for alleging designing and
marketing applications that illegally track children in violation
of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. The complaint

demographics, and online activities of children without the
knowledge and consent of parents for the purpose of targeted
advertising.
