Expo 2020 Dubai, the first ever of its kind to be held in the Arab region, and which is scheduled to take place from October 1, 2021 until March 31, 2022, has produced another online children's book with contributions from international participants across the globe.

The second edition of ‘Children's Tales from Around the World' was launched on January 24 in celebration of International Day of Education. This enchanting story book comprises 43 traditional short stories and folk tales with evocative illustrations from talented artists, young and old. The stories aim to encourage children aged 5 to 12 years to explore new cultures, recognise common values, gain a greater appreciation of their own heritage, and develop a love of reading.

Barbadian author, Zoanne Evans submitted her winning entry to the organisors of Expo 2020 Dubai through Invest Barbados. Her must read story titled: Why the Wood Dove Cannot Build a Proper Nest (page 127), was illustrated by a student, Alisha Smith.

Colourful, unique and entertaining, the book is available for free download on the  Expo School Programme website Kobo and Apple Books. Expo 2020 Dubai encourages persons to download so that children globally can enjoy the delightful messages emanating from their country and from others across the globe.

Themed, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future', Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 192 participating countries and millions of visitors. The event, which focuses on the three sub-themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability, will feature a global celebration of culture, collaboration and innovation with an aim of leaving a meaningful and lasting legacy.
