After two years of effect of the Civil Code, the first amendment
thereto comes into existence. The amending Act no. 460/2016 Coll. comes into effect on February
2017 and stipulates, i.a., an option to agree on securing a
receivable in the form of unlimited deductions from salary (it is
currently possible to make only deductions not exceeding half of
salary) and reducing the maximum security deposit, which may be
required by a landlord from his tenant from the existing six
monthly rents to three monthly rents of a flat.
