It has been a busy year for DQ's Aviation Team. DQ's specialist aviation lawyers (Stephen Dougherty, Tom Maher and Matthew Kinrade) have been very active in the market.

DQ has been involved in a number of transactions, acting for both, sellers, purchasers and fiduciaries in a range of transactions for premier business aircraft including, Gulfstream G450s, G550s and G650s, Embraer Legacy 650s and Bombardier Challenger 605s. The total value of the transactions that DQ has advised on this year is over $200 million.

Outside of the office, Stephen and Matt again attended EBACE in May this year and Stephen will be attending the Corporate Jet Investor conference in London in February 2016.

The raising of the profile of the DQ Aviation Teams has resulted in Stephen being invited to contribute the Isle of Man chapter for The Aviation Law Review (third edition). This is the first time that the Isle of Man had been invited to contribute a chapter. Stephen has also again been invited to contribute a chapter to Corporate Jet Investor's "The Official Guide to Aircraft Registration and Tax 2016", following his contribution to the previous Guide in 2014. Stephen's chapter entitled, "Why choose to register an aircraft in the Isle of Man", focuses on why the Isle of Man as a jurisdiction works for business jets and continues DQ's work to advance the standing of the Isle of Man and its Aircraft Registry in the business aviation sector.
