On 17 March 2021, the Legislative Council passed the Sex Discrimination (Amendment) Bill, which seeks to amend the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (Cap. 480) (SDO) to make it unlawful for a person to harass a breastfeeding woman. 

The new protection against unlawful breastfeeding harassment together with the protection against unlawful breastfeeding discrimination, which was introduced under the Discrimination Legislation (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance 2020, will come into force on 19 June 2021.
