Skrine has advised government linked private equity firm, Ekuiti Nasional Berhad on its acquisition of a controlling stake in Medispec (M) Sdn Bhd marking its maiden foray into the pharmaceutical industry. According to Ekuinas CEO Syed Yasir Arafat Syed Abd Kadir, Ekuinas' entry into the healthcare and pharmaceutical space is timely as it looks to capitalise on global megatrends and demographic shifts amid the emergence of Covid-19.
The Skrine's deal team was led by M&A partners Fariz Abdul Aziz and healthcare specialist Sheba Gumis who were supported by senior associate Karyn Khor, associates Alia Abdullah, Jeralyn Kan, Francine Ariel Paul, Ann Marie Siaw, Ting Shi Jing, Grace Mah together with paralegal Faith Chan and Amanda Hollow.
