The EU has published its report on the results of the 2003 public consultation on the recast of the Sixth Directive. Editorial suggestions have been taken into account; calls for changes in substance have not.

The EU uploaded its report of July 22 on the public consultation concluded in October of 2003 on its recast of the Sixth Directive on VAT on September 14. The call was for editorial comments and suggestions only; suggestions for changes in substance have therefore been ignored. There were 27 respondents, five of which were EU organisations, one was a German national organisation, and one a German business. The revised text of the recast was adopted by the Commission on April 15, 2004. It now requires the unanimous approval of the Council of Ministers.
