By means of Resolution No. 5731, published in the Official Gazette on March 13th, 2020, the

National Immigration Authority of the Republic of Panama restricts public attention.

Comments:

  • Due to the actions recommended by the Ministry of Health to prevent possible contagion for workers, employers and users, the National Immigration Authority, has restricted the public attention for some services.
  • As of today, the biometric affiliation process and the issuance of residence permit ID-cards, have been suspended for a period of fifteen (15) working days. This applies to temporary ID-cards, provisional ID-cards, non-resident visas, court stay ID-cards and "Crisol de Razas" ID-cards.
  • The validity of residence permits for all foreigners, which expire from this date, will be extended for a period of fifteen (15) working days.

Aspects to be considered:

  • This resolution complements the measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Panama to avoid crowding and preserve public health and to mitigate potential risks of contagion.
  • Any foreigner who has been notified of the residence permit resolution, but does not hold an immigration ID-card, must carry a simple copy of the resolution.
  • Any foreigner who has applied for a residence permit must carry a simple copy of the application with the stamp from the Immigration Authority.
