Associate, Marina Vassiliou has contributed an article to the Cyprus Mail concerning a recent 'Opinion'  issued by the National Bioethics Committee.  The Opinion addressed the issue of whether or not the Cyprus government should introduce mandatory vaccinations against Covid 19 for all citizens, irrespective of their personal wishes.

In her article, Marina explores and explains the scientific and ethical thought processes that the Committee would have gone through before arriving at the Opinion.  She also highlights the fact that whilst the Committee is currently opposed to the implementation of a compulsory vaccination programme this view may change over time as more evidence is gathered on the various vaccines available, the impact of the Covid 19 disease, available treatments, and economic factors.
