[...] From the very beginning, Uber/Grab and conventional taxi companies choose for themselves different position in transport service supply chain. [...] Therefore, proposals requesting for lessening business conditions for conventional taxi companies until they are "similar to Uber/Grab" are impossible due to the far difference in the nature of business model.
Any expectation or reliance on the Government's protection will only make domestic enterprises "not to grow up", cause disadvantages to consumers, and the obsession of being out of date will continue. Hopefully that such perspective will not occur owing to positive changes that we are now watching. It is when consumers have fastly change their consumption hatbits; conventional taxi companies begin to build taxi request software, renovate their administration system and improve service quality. Uber and Grab have to change themselves also to possibly exist in the global harsh competition. Most importantly, Vietnamese state management agencies are also changing their thinking in management when they have partly gone away from the path namely "ban is applied whenever it is impossible to govern". Those are positive signals showing the moving forward of the whole society in the 4.0 technology era.
