Solvent entities reaching the end of their commercial life is a normal and necessary stage in the business cycle.  A key question that then arises regarding the management of this process is whether termination of the legal entity should be effected by way of a voluntary liquidation or a simple strike off.  Although a strike off may seem like an economical and easy solution, voluntary liquidation offers significant advantages, not least in respect of certainty and finality, which should not be overlooked.
