2020-03-25 – Ontario nominated nearly 7,400 principal immigration applicants in 2019, representing nearly 13,750 newcomers to the province including spouses and dependents, new figures show.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program's review of 2019 declared 'demand for the OINP is strong', with the province reaching its 2019 allocation of 6,650 in December, then filling the addition 700 slots grated by the federal government.

Ontario officials have called for the allocation to be increased to more than 13,000 by 2022, showing how confident the province is in filling spaces.
