The Ontario Securities Commission recently announced that it has entered into Memoranda of Understanding with each of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) and Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).

Specifically, the MoU with FINTRAC is intended to facilitate information-sharing related to the oversight of firms that are subject to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.

The MoU with FSRA, meanwhile, is similarly intended to facilitate information-sharing, as well as cooperation and mutual assistance, between the OSC and FRSA.

Both MoUs are subject to approval of Ontario's Minister of Finance.
