On March 1st, 2011, the Règlement concernant la déclaration annuelle en matière d'équité salariale came into force. Under this regulation, employers are now required to produce an annual report to determine whether they are subject to the Pay Equity Act, and whether they have achieved their pay equity exercise or their pay equity audit.

Employers will thus be required to provide various information annually, including, for example, their business number (NEQ), the size of their Company during the relevant period, and, if applicable, the dates of posting of their pay equity process and audit.

Generally, this declaration will have to be completed within six (6) months from the date of their fiscal year-end.

As of March 31, 2011, employers are able to fulfill this obligation online on the website of the Commission on Pay Equity at www.ces.gouv.qc.ca.
