On October 1, Canada
announced the launch of its new Canadian Centre for Cyber
Security. The Centre was created in response to Canada's 2016
Cyber Review, which identified a need for more "focused
federal management on cyber security." The Centre's
mandate is to "make Canada more resilient to cyber incidents
and build a stronger cyber security community" within
Canada.
