The Toronto Enterprise Fund ("TEF") has announced the launch of its final funding competition for non-profit social enterprises that provide transitional or permanent employment for people who are marginalized. A total of $155,000 is available for the winners of the competition.
In order to enter the competition, participants must register by May 1, 2017. Substantive project submissions are due later in 2017, with the final business plan being due on October 6, 2017.
The basic eligibility requirements to receive funding from TEF are as follows:
- Be an incorporated non-profit organization;
- Have charitable status, or if not, be sponsored by a charitable organization;
- Be managed by a volunteer Board of Directors or Steering Committee; and
- Be located and operating in the City of Toronto.
Individuals and privately-owned business corporations are not eligible for funding.
TEF is a funding partnership between the United Way of Toronto & York Region, the City of Toronto, the Ontario Ministry of Community & Social Services and the Homelessness Partnering Strategy, a federal government program administered by the City of Toronto.
