Previous blog posts have been posted about the new BC
Societies Act, including a detailed review of this
proposed legislation. As a follow up to those blog posts, Bill 24,
the "Societies Act", received Royal Assent on May 14,

and a timetable for implementation of the new governance regime.
Based on previous announcements, it would be expected that the new
law would come into effect sometime late in 2016 or early in
2017.
