The National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published on March 18, 2015 Resolution No. 17, which approves the Technical Regulations of the Plan for the Development of Large Production Fields and the Technical Regulation of the Plan for Development of Small Production Fields.

The referred rule sets forth that large production fields are hydrocarbons deposits whose production exceeds 5,000 boe/d (barrels of oil equivalent a day). Small production fields are hydrocarbons deposits whose production never exceeds 5.000 boe/d (barrels of oil equivalent a day).

The referred resolution revoked ANP Ordinance No. 90 of May 31, 2000 and ANP Resolution No. 46, of December 22, 2009 .

Technical Regulations of the Plan for the Development of Large Production Fields provide guidelines for the creation of the plan for the Development of Fields with Large Production still without a history of exploration and sets its minimum content in conformity with the applicable contracts.

The Technical Regulations of the Review of the Plan for the Development of Large Production Fields provide guidelines for the creation of a review of the Plan for the Development of Large Production Fields that already have a history of exploration and set its minimum content in conformity with the applicable contracts. 

Finally, the Technical Regulations of the Plan for the Development of Small Production Fields provide guidelines for the creation of the Plan for the Development of Small Production Fields and Marginal Accumulations in Inactive Areas and its review and set its minimum content in conformity with the applicable contracts. 

The new resolution and the regulations are already in force.
