The Digital Argentine National Identity Card Is The Only Valid Document

RENAPER Resolution N° 1740/2016 postponed the date for
changing all handwritten ID documents to the new Argentine National
Identity Card, to March 31 2017.
Therefore, starting April 1, digital Argentine National Identity
Cards are the only ID documents considered valid in the country.
The only ones exempted are people over 75 years old and others who
are judicially incompetent.
In November 2016 a travel restricition was imposed (see

and the Resolution now makes the new format mandatory within the
territory as well.
