Crowe MacKay LLP partners with Launch Okanagan as the presenting sponsor of Dollars and Sense – a financial education program designed to increase financial competency and boost confidence.

This free eight-week program begins on April 20 and covers financial topics including budgeting, saving and investing, credit and debit management, consumerism, and your relationship with money. Classes run on Tuesday evenings on Zoom and participation is open to any individual needing money management mentorship.

"The Dollars and Sense program is suited for anyone that wants to improve their financial situation and learn strategies on how to manage their money more effectively," says Jennifer Robins, Executive Director of Launch Okanagan.

Courses are taught by experienced professionals, including certified financial planners, who provide participants with the tools to build financial stability. Ensuring program accessibility for participants is also a priority of Launch Okanagan and they do this by allowing registrants to sign-up anonymously, removing the stigma from money matters.

"Crowe MacKay is proud to partner with Launch Okanagan and sponsor this series of the Dollars and Sense program. As trusted advisors in our community, we understand the value of financial education, and the power it has in changing lives and building futures for individuals and families," says Dave Gautier, Managing Partner of Crowe MacKay's Kelowna office.

Launch is impacting individuals throughout the Okanagan. A recent program graduate said: "I have learnt a lot over the past few weeks. I am so motivated and inspired that I have opened a long-term investment account. I am also working hard on my budgeting. Thanks to [the program], I am gaining more confidence in managing my finances."

The pandemic's impact on Canadians has resulted in decreased incomes and an increase in financial instability. The Dollars & Sense program empowers individuals through education and mentorship to identify the barriers preventing them to financial recovery and provides the tools to empower them to take control of their finances and achieve their goals.

The next Dollars and Sense program begins on April 20, 2021, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Launch Financial Education Society ("Launch Okanagan"), is a local charity based in Kelowna BC, offering low-barrier money management education for individuals needing financial literacy support.
