William Fry has been awarded Irish Patent Contentious Firm of the Year 2021 at the prestigious annual Managing IP Awards. The award recognises William Fry's market leading position in the area of patent litigation. William Fry was one of six Irish law firms nominated in the category at the awards.

William Fry's patent litigation team is recognised both nationally and internationally as one of Ireland's premier practices for large scale patent  litigation in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device sectors, and it regularly represents many of the top global companies in these sectors. The team have acted in the majority of patent disputes that have come before the Irish Courts in recent years.  Many of these cases form part of a wider multi-jurisdictional dispute and the team regularly work with other leading international law firms in this regard. With a strategic focus on the Life Sciences, Technology, Fashion and Food & Beverage sectors in particular, William Fry is Ireland's largest full-service intellectual property team.

The Managing IP Awards, which is in its sixteenth year, sees awards presented to firms, individuals and companies behind the most innovative and challenging IP work of the past year, as well as those driving the international IP market.
