Firm recognized for commitment to fostering inclusive culture

Toronto (March 2, 2021) — For the third year in a row, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) has been named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers. This award, presented by Mediacorp Canada Inc., recognizes employers across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs.

"Building a diverse and inclusive workplace is a cornerstone of our talent strategy," said John Murphy, BLG's National Managing Partner and CEO. "Our strength is our people, and we are committed to ensuring our policies, hiring practices and leadership development allow different perspectives to be heard and respected."

"We are proud to receive this recognition again in 2021. Each year we work hard to build on existing initiatives and introduce new ones. In a year when most of us were working remotely, fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging was more important than ever," added Laleh Moshiri, BLG's National Director of  Diversity and Inclusion.

BLG offers a wide range of programming to raise awareness about diversity and inclusion and to celebrate its diversity. Mandatory anti-Black racism training, mental health initiatives, supports for new parents and demonstrated support for building a diverse pipeline of law students were some of the key reasons BLG was recognized.

Now in its 14th year, Canada's Best Diversity Employers recognizes employers with exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness initiatives for women, visible minorities, people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
