LONDON, February 18, 2021 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, today welcomed Peter Olds as a partner in the Private Funds Group, based in London.

“Peter brings a wealth of experience to the Private Funds group, having spent time working directly in the fundraising team of a global asset manager and as an external legal advisor. In 2020, Proskauer’s London lawyers represented over €14 billion in raised capital, and Peter’s market knowledge across Europe and internationally perfectly complements that work,” said Nigel Van Zyl, co-head of the global Private Funds Group.

Peter advises clients on the establishment of private funds in the UK, Europe and internationally for private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate fund sponsors, cornerstone investments in private funds, and private fund carried interest, and other executive incentive initiatives and associated UK and European regulatory matters.

“We are well-known and respected for our work in all facets of the asset management industry. Peter’s experience across a range of asset classes, including real asset structures, adds to the services we can provide our clients and we are thrilled that he will be joining our team. He is the second significant addition to our office this week, with Steven Baker joining our corporate litigation team. We are growing and we will continue to grow,” said Mary Kuusisto, head of the London office.

In 2020, Proskauer’s Private Funds global team of 160+ lawyers advised over 125 funds with more than $45.0 billion in committed capital. In addition, the group worked on 225+ secondaries transactions for over 40 different GPs and LPs, with an aggregate deal value exceeding $30 billion, and formed over 25 secondary fund vehicles.

“Proskauer is known as being in the top tier of law firms for private fund formation. I’m incredibly excited to join Proskauer’s London team, whose depth and breadth of experience will be a great asset to my clients,” said Peter Olds.

Peter received his B.A. from Macquarie University and his LL.B from the University of Technology, Sydney. He joins Proskauer from Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
