Webinar

The federal government continues to ratchet up security requirements for confidential information, including for private entities that deal with the government. Many entities, including government contractors and others such as some higher education institutions, must now comply with NIST SP 800-171 for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) they receive. Department of Defense contractors must now consider the applicability of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and what must be done to comply.

In this webinar we review NIST SP 800-171 and the CMMC, to whom they apply, and consider what compliance may take. We will example the requirements both in the context of those contracting with federal governmental agencies and institutions of higher education who may receive information through research work or simply through federal student aid programs. The Thompson Coburn team will be joined by Shawn Malone of Security Diligence, LLC. Mr. Malone will discuss the practical and technical issues involved in assessing and complying with these security standards.
