According to a recent survey of real estate fund managers and other institutional investors conducted by FTI Consulting and Real Estate Finance & Investment, investment interest in both traditional and niche asset classes remains high, with nearly half of the respondents expecting there to be the same levels of equity and debt capital available for investments post COVID as there was pre-COVID. Further, assuming that there is a vaccine or cure for COVID by the end of 2020, the majority of respondents said they expect even more transaction volume in 2021 than this year, and more than 85% expect to see more or at least the same level of investment in 2021 versus 2020. So where exactly will those investment opportunities be found?
