Around the globe, transactions of all sizes and in various industries are increasingly under scrutiny for possible national security implications, a scrutiny that has only increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Canada, the number of national security reviews triggered last year was at an all-time high and certain types of transactions are facing additional scrutiny as a result of the pandemic. Similarly, new rules were recently put into place in the U.S. that have significant implications under the CFIUS review process. In Europe, investors are facing similar scrutiny from a variety of authorities, including an emboldened Competition and Markets Authority in the United Kingdom.

Join us for a live webinar featuring an international panel, who will discuss the cross-border dimensions and implications for investors of national security reviews and offer practical tips for dealing with these politically sensitive and often opaque review processes.
