(August 24, 2020) -- Seyfarth today announced that Darren Perry and Peter Talibart have been named co-chairs of the firm's International department.

Comprised of 65 attorneys throughout the world, Seyfarth's International department has experience covering more than 170 countries, acting for some of the world's largest multinational companies on a global, regional, and local basis. The department assists multinational employers with a full range of employment-related matters at the global, regional, and local levels—issues ranging from day-to-day international matters on a single-country basis, to large and complex multijurisdictional employment law projects and transactions. The International department also encompasses a corporate and commercial team that works with multinational clients to assist with strategic business growth, business protection, and regulatory compliance.

"Darren and Pete are tremendous lawyers who have successfully led their own offices for many years during the firm's global expansion," said Pete Miller, Seyfarth's chair and managing partner. "They are both highly-respected by colleagues and clients and I'm thrilled to see them lead our talented teams around the world."

Darren Perry currently serves as the office managing partner of Seyfarth's Sydney and Melbourne offices and practices in all areas of employment and industrial relations law. He regularly advises major employers on collective bargaining strategies, responses to industrial action, and major workplace change projects including automation. Notably, Chambers Asia-Pacific described Perry as "the market leader in Sydney" for industrial relations and "well-known for handling large or complex cases."

Peter Talibart currently serves as the office managing partner of Seyfarth's London office and has more than two decades of cutting-edge international employment law experience. He is employment counsel to major multinationals and financial institutions on strategic cross-border employment matters in more than 150 jurisdictions around the world. An accomplished human rights advocate, Talibart has given formal evidence to the parliaments of the UK and Canada, as well as lectured at the Vatican and the United Nations, on modern slavery legislation.

"I'm humbled by this opportunity and ready to work with Pete to continue growing our global capabilities while providing the outstanding client service that has become a hallmark of the department," said Perry.

"Our International team is comprised of dedicated, smart, and innovative professionals with resources unique to Seyfarth and its global platform. I'm proud to join Darren at this exciting time for our department," said Talibart.

Seyfarth's International department has strategically grown, expanding its Asia-Pacific presence with a new Hong Kong office in 2017. All of its offices have received numerous honors for superb legal work and innovation, including Best Lawyers in Australia's "Law Firm of the Year" for Labor and Employment in 2020; and top rankings in Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR1000, The Legal 500, and Doyles Guide in Australia.
