Arnold & Porter partner Dipanwita Deb Amar was named as one of the National Law Journal's 2020 "Employment Law Trailblazers." The special supplement profiles a "list of honorees" that innovate in all areas of labor and employment law.

The National Law Journal notes that Amar focuses her practice on using arbitration in gender discrimination, sexual harassment and mandatory arbitration class-action waivers in defending employers. The publication also cites the #MeToo movement's effects on the law surrounding mandatory arbitration, and Amar explains that arbitration will continue to be a viable option in gender and other harassment cases.

"I believe it's people, not policy, that change culture," says Amar. "And I think the advent of the #MeToo movement has really done wonders in changing how people think."

Amar has been consistently commended for her capabilities with cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and whistleblower claims. She has been named to the Daily Journal's list of "Top Labor & Employment Lawyers" six times since 2012.
