National law firm Holding Redlich is pleased to announce the appointment of new partner Susan Goodman to its Sydney Dispute Resolution & Litigation practice.

Susan has 19 years' experience advising and representing companies, government departments and professional services firms in a range of commercial disputes.

She specialises in large, complex, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including class actions.

Susan said she is delighted to join Holding Redlich and to be working with its national Dispute Resolution & Litigation team.

"I am very pleased to join the team at Holding Redlich," Susan said.

She said that following the Financial Services Royal Commission it is a very interesting time in the technical – and topical - area of dispute resolution and litigation.

Susan said: "ASIC's 'why not litigate' approach as well as the increasing number of class actions being commenced in Australia with the expansion of litigation funding in the jurisdiction means that the commercial litigation space is currently very dynamic."

She also noted the challenges that corporate boards are facing in the current changing regulatory environment where there is a focus on enforcement and litigation.

National Managing Partner Ian Robertson welcomed Susan, saying her expertise will add significantly to the firm's disputes and litigation practice.

"Susan's appointment significantly boosts our Sydney disputes practice, and her focus on complex commercial litigation matters will strengthen our team's expertise at both a State and national level," Ian said.

"Susan is an expert in highly-technical and complex disputes matters, with a strong track record assisting clients across the corporate and government spectrum.

"We are delighted to have Susan on board."
